RITUAL ◆ STUDIO
Ritual Studio · Content & Voice Review

Your copy already sounds human. Let's protect that, and fix the two pages that don't.

A plain read of the words on the site, page by page. What sounds like Rory, what reads like a vendor brochure, and how the Journal becomes the thing that grows the business before you open.

The good news: the voice is yours

Most brands pay agencies and still end up sounding like a template. Rory's writing already sounds like a person.

The core pages are warm, plain, and specific. They talk to a real human being, they admit that the cold is hard, and they never reach for gloss. This is the whole game, and it is already working. Here is the voice, in her own words:

"We know it's not easy, but it's worth it. With tubs at different temperatures you can test what works best for you."Home · the cold plunge
"Build resilience: Taking the plunge builds mental toughness. We can do hard things."Home
"As former professional athletes and parents of two young children, we know firsthand that recovery isn't a luxury; it's a necessity."About
"Most people walk in unsure. They sit for a minute, look at the cold, and wonder if they can do it. That's usually where it begins."Journal · How to Begin

This is the reference. Everything we write next, every blog post and every caption, should sound like these four lines. When something we draft does not sound like this, it is wrong, and we rewrite it. That is the whole rule.

Where it stops sounding like you: CoolSculpting and Cryo

Two pages read like they were pasted from a device vendor. They also make claims you cannot make yet.

The CoolSculpting and Cryo Facial pages drop the warm voice completely and switch to clinical brochure language. Worse, they describe results from clients you do not have yet, because you have not opened.

Reads like a brochure, not like Ritual

"Advanced Treatment Technology... state-of-the-art equipment" "advanced thermal shock technology to rejuvenate your skin" "Precision Application... targeted techniques" "Expert Care... our trained professionals"

Claims you cannot make pre-launch (credibility and ad-compliance risk)

"Real Results from Real Clients" "the transformative results our clients have achieved" "Impressive transformations from our satisfied clients" "Photos are of actual patients" "Transform Your Body in 2025"

You have no clients yet, so "real clients" and "satisfied clients" are not true today, and before/after style claims for a regulated body treatment invite trouble. The "2025" line is also last year now. The fix: rewrite both pages in Rory's voice, cut every "clients / results / satisfied" claim until it is real, and say the honest thing instead: what it is, the simple science, and what to expect. Or hold these two pages until closer to opening. That is a decision for you and Rory below.

Page by page, the quick read

Does it sound like Rory, and the single change that helps most.
PageSounds like Rory?The one change
HomeYesWork the local words in ("University Place", "Tacoma") so Google can place you.
AboutYes, strongThe headline is "What We Care About", which no one searches. Give it a real title with the words people look for.
MembershipsYesAdd two plain sentences on what contrast therapy actually does. Right now it is almost all price cards.
Contrast TherapyMostlyTrim the "In today's world" opening. It is the one spot that drifts toward filler.
CoolSculptingNoRewrite in her voice and remove the "real clients / results" claims (see above).
Cryo FacialsNoSame. Clinical vendor copy and a client-photo claim you cannot back yet.
ContactYesAdd opening hours and a map. This is a business fix, not a voice fix.
JournalYes, excellentThe "Book Your Session" button promises booking that does not exist yet. Point it at the waitlist.
WaitlistYesFine. Just say what a founding member actually gets (a protected rate while your membership stays continuously active, and first access).

Small fixes that keep it tight and honest

How we grow it: the Journal is the engine

You already started it, in the right voice. Now we make it a habit.

At the August 6 review the Journal held four posts in Rory's voice (How to Begin, Stress Isn't the Problem. Staying Stressed Is., The Power of Contrast Therapy, and Why Ritual Exists); it now holds 11. That is the seed, and it is exactly the tone we want.

The plan is one new post a week. Each one educates, sourced from a Huberman Lab episode or a real study, and written in this same human voice. The education post on Instagram can stem from it. Because the studio opens next year, every article we publish now has months to climb in Google before opening day, while a competitor who starts writing at launch is starting from zero. The blog engine, the finished 26 articles, and the live 27 week calendar now exist; the calendar runs in the Content Studio.

Let's decide together

Decided already: we write the blog and the two service-page rewrites, Rory keeps the voice; Instagram runs three posts a week including a casual weekly Reel; opening is early 2027. The questions below are kept as a record of the original review; the current open items live in the Call Log.

1. CoolSculpting and Cryo pages
Keep them live and rewrite them now, or hold them until closer to opening? They are the least on-brand and the highest risk today.
2. Who writes
Does Rory voice each post herself, or do I draft from the research and she edits it until it sounds like her? Either works. The second is faster and still ends up in her words.
3. Cadence
Settled: three feed posts a week on the Educate, Connect, and Invite pillars, plus stories and a weekly Reel.
4. First topics
Anything Rory already wants to cover first? If not, I will propose the first month from the research.
5. The opening date
Settled: early 2027, softened everywhere on the site.
